About Angela
I have been professionally tutoring in reading and writing for three years and I am still tutoring. I am mostly tutored second-generation students who are not familiar with English and low-income students whose families cannot professionally pay for tutoring. Due to my lessons, many of my student's writing and reading abilities far exceed the expectations from their grade level.

My teaching method is very much tailored to the students' needs. For example, one of my classes have more fast pace and intuitively smarter kids, I give them more advanced readings where they must read and dissect the literature before reconvening together as a group to talk about the messages and themes. However, another class I have taught had more slower kids whose attention spans were short, therefore, we did more visual exercises in groups (from watching educational YouTube videos explaining the story and re-enacting parts). I use a lot of individual and team collaboration exercises, but it all usually depends on the students' needs. In the end however, I like to go over all the materials with the students to make sure they all understand. I do not like leaving children behind when they need a little bit more explaining.
