About Georgie
My name is Georgie and I am a recent graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s BA Acting (Hons) Acting program.
I went to a boarding school in Dorset called Knighton House from 7 – 11 years old, and then I moved to Benenden School, another boarding school for my secondary education (11-18 years old.) I absolutely loved both schools, making some lifelong friends alongside obtaining a fantastic education and a sense of independence and confidence.
I was drawn to humanities subjects from a young age, which I am sure has influenced and fed into my decision to pursue acting as a career - something that constantly draws on my love of literature, history, and the arts. I think I was very lucky to have some wonderful teachers as I was growing up, which now as a tutor myself, allows me to fully appreciate the importance of finding the right tutor for the student, who can hopefully inspire and improve learning simultaneously.
I have experience in teaching primary school children in English, Music, Art, Reading, Writing, Drama and confidence. Whilst at school, I obtained the position of Head of House, which aptly suited my natural instinct of helping, looking out for and mentoring younger students. Having worked as a nanny alongside tutoring in the past few years, I am still very passionate about helping children combat learning difficulties, grow in confidence and find a love of learning. I also have experience in tutoring students studying English Drama, Theatre Studies and Acting for A Level and beyond, including audition preparation, public speaking practice and private drama lessons.
Receiving an actor’s training provides you with skills that can be transferred into all areas of life, but equip you especially well to tutor and mentor younger students. My emphasis as a tutor is to encourage my students to be free-thinking, confident and independent in their approach to their studies, and hopefully in the process, have some fun, and make some valuable progress in areas that need special help.
