I start with simple rhythm at the top of the drum and when the student feels comfortable we ad melody. Most of the music I do is a collection of simple rhythm with the same or similar timing. It would be similar to a african drumming workshop but the result are far more spectacular
I have had percussion as my main hobby for 12 years and handpan for the last 4. I have a youtube channel (concealed information) check it out. I am versed in african, cuban, electronic and middle eastern music. I derive rhythems from drums , piano, techno, congas, djembe, Darbouka, frame drum, tonbek, celtic etc etc
Played in several percussion groups and festivals
