I was a runner, love all sports got the medals but then real life happens now work part time while going to school full time. It not easy working 7 hours making minimum wage. Going to college to become a professional photographer. Saving up money for my lenses. Wanting to get a higher education and become a teacher. The goal to get a house and no more paying rent.

At the time you believe that math won't be used in the real world. Well you are correct and not. Math is need when trying to major in engineering or architecture. When walk down the sidewalk you don't need y=mx+b. Probably working at a fast food restaurant making minimum wage and don't need math. Reason you didn't try to get a better life. Maybe didn't want a challenge just a stable job for a easy life.
