About Kelsey
As a rising junior at Bowdoin College, I have an overall GPA of 3.825 GPA and earned a consistent spot on the All-NESCAC Academic Team. Before Bowdoin, I graduated from Harvard-Westlake School, one of the most academically rigorous college preparatory schools in the country, with a 4.13 GPA.
My academic background has given me a strong command of analytical writing, research, and argumentation, skills I'm passionate about passing on to the next generation of students. I have direct tutoring experience working with students in English and history, tailoring lesson content to individual needs and tracking progress over time.
Outside the classroom, I'm a varsity athlete on the Bowdoin Women's Volleyball team, which has reinforced my discipline, time management, and overall performance at a high level. Balancing rigorous academics with Division III athletics has made me adaptable and efficient, and I bring that same energy to my students.

I'm a Government & Legal Studies and History double major at Bowdoin College with hands-on tutoring experience helping middle and high school students excel in both English and history. My lessons are tailored to each student's level, and I'm happy to help kids tackle anything from foundational writing skills to advanced analytical essays for honors or AP courses.
A typical lesson will start with a broad overview and goal setting, then we'll zero in on one core skill, such as thesis construction, argument development, evidence integration, or prose clarity. I give real, specific feedback and make sure students leave with a clear concept they can apply immediately, while also remaining encouraging and supportive!
I have experience helping students with both analytical essays for class assignments and personal essays for college applications and other high-stakes submissions. I know what strong writing looks like in both contexts and how to get students there in a way that builds lasting skills.
Since I'm close in age to my students, I pride myself on my ability to connect with them, deliver feedback in a way that's clear and digestible, and adapt my approach to whoever walks through the door in order to set each student up for lasting success.
