About Harriet

I am a dedicated and reliable online tutor with a strong academic background across multiple subjects. I take a professional, well-structured approach to tutoring, ensuring that each lesson is purposeful, engaging, and tailored to the individual student’s needs.

I tutor Math up to Year 10, Science up to Year 11, High School and IB English, IB English Extended Essay, and Beginner Spanish. Having completed the IB myself and achieved an A in my IB English Extended Essay, I have first-hand experience of the expectations, assessment criteria, and exam techniques required for success.

About the lesson

My name is Harriet, and my lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on building strong foundations first, then developing confidence and exam technique through guided practice and clear explanations. I encourage students to ask questions freely and make sure they understand why an answer works, not just how to get it.

I use a mix of worked examples, targeted exercises, past-paper style questions (especially for IB and high school), and discussion-based learning for English. For IB English and the Extended Essay, I provide detailed feedback on structure, analysis, and argument development, drawing on my own experience achieving an A in the IB English Extended Essay.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes, though shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s age and concentration level. All lessons are conducted online, using shared documents and interactive explanations to keep students engaged.

I tutor Maths up to Year 10, Science up to Year 11, High School and IB English, IB English Extended Essay, and Beginner Spanish. My lessons are suitable for middle school and high school students, including IB students who want to improve grades, confidence, or exam performance.
