About Kendall
I have experience teaching reading and writing skills from every stage. I have taught kindergarten students how to read using the Orton Gillingham method and I have taught multiple college-level poetry classes at Brown University. I believe whole-heartedly in creative writing’s ability to increase writing skills overall, and I have seen it create lasting increases in overall confidence for students of all ages. I have worked as an admissions counselor, so I have intimate knowledge of resume and college application editing, and I have also worked as a textbook editor and as a staff member of a Denver newspaper while working towards my bachelors in English at the University of Denver. I am a published poet and fiction writer, and all of my interests and passion inform my approach to teaching writing.

I take a personalized approach to teach creative writing, and I genuinely care about my students’ success. I use in class writing exercises, reading material and personalized feedback to help guide my students’ writing into its optimal iteration. I help my students understand how their writing is perceived by others, guiding them to communicate their thoughts and their ideas most effectively. I care about developing a relationship with my students and tailor my approach to their specific interests, needs and skills.
