About Brian
Hi all! First off I am proud of you for taking the steps to build on your education. I am a aspiring medical school student so I know how difficult it can be balancing your education with all of life’s other opportunities (Work, family, Social life). With my tutoring sessions I will be sure to “read the room” and work with you as an individual, not a client. I have strong backgrounds in the areas I will be teaching and will try to make it as fun/manageable as possible. I say manageable because not everything you learn is going to be fun, and thats I’m here to, at the very least, get you to a point of confidently grasping the material you come to me with to ensure you pass that exam, excel on that homework assignment, and earn the grade you worked for!

My teaching method involves building rapport with my student and creating an individualized plan based on their approach to learning. I will use visual, audio, and kinetic learning strategies to assess how a student will succeed. I believe what sets me apart is that I will also use a hands-on learning approach which I feel is effective because practicing first-hand regardless of experience or training helps build confidence in your abilities, and consistency in your practicing/studying.
A typical lesson plan would involve a quiz on previously learned material, introducing new material, introducing a plan to meet goals on mastering the material, teach the material using their learning strategy, and then build/create ways to study the learned material so that the content is being maintained in their long term memory. Without constant practice outside of learning/tutoring, we only hold material in our short term memory, so building good study/practice habits will help our sessions go smoothly as we build on different concepts.
