About Corrine
I bring a strong academic, professional, and creative background to my work as a tutor. I graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where I studied Economics with a concentration in Business Analytics, while also pursuing minors in Nutrition Science, Fine Arts, and Graphic Design. This interdisciplinary education shaped the way I teach: I am comfortable with analytical subjects like math, economics, and science, while also bringing a thoughtful, creative approach to writing, literature, philosophy, languages, and the arts.
Professionally, I have experience in strategy, consulting, data analysis, design, teaching, and wellness education. I have worked with students and young people in both academic and nonprofit settings, including leading yoga and emotional regulation programming for youth. I have also taught adults through yoga and Pilates, which strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive environment where people feel comfortable learning.
As a tutor, I take professionalism seriously. I come prepared, listen carefully to each student’s needs, and tailor my lessons to their goals, learning style, and current level of understanding. I believe tutoring should be encouraging, structured, and respectful. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades or complete assignments, but also to help them build confidence, independence, and a stronger relationship with learning.
Students can expect me to be patient, thoughtful, organized, and fully engaged during our sessions. I care deeply about helping each student feel capable and supported, and I approach every lesson with the belief that learning becomes much easier when students feel understood.

My approach as a tutor is personalized, supportive, and focused on long-term understanding. I believe every student learns differently, so a major part of our work together is first identifying how the student learns best — whether that is through visual explanations, hands-on practice, discussion, case studies, repetition, creative exercises, or step-by-step problem solving. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. The way I structure each lesson depends on the student’s learning style, the subject we are working on, what they already know, and what their personal goals are.
My teaching method combines clear explanation, active practice, and deeper connection to the material. In a classroom setting, it can be easy for students to focus only on memorizing information for the next test. While grades and exams are important, my goal is to help students actually retain what they learn and understand why it matters. I try to connect classroom material to real-world applications, broader ideas, and the student’s own interests whenever possible, because I believe almost everything we learn in school can be useful beyond the classroom.
A typical lesson begins with a short check-in to understand what the student is currently working on, where they feel confident, and where they feel stuck. From there, I assess their existing understanding and choose the best approach for the subject. For example, a math or science lesson might involve breaking down concepts step by step, working through practice problems, and identifying patterns. A literature, history, philosophy, or writing lesson might involve discussion, close reading, outlining, argument-building, or connecting ideas across texts and time periods. For art, design, or creative writing, lessons may be more project-based, with feedback, brainstorming, technique-building, and creative exploration. At the end of each session, I summarize what we covered, reinforce the key takeaways, and suggest next steps so the student leaves with clarity and confidence.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my interdisciplinary background and ability to teach in both analytical and creative ways. I can support students in traditional academic subjects from middle school through college, including math, literature, history, science, and writing. I also have specializations in philosophy, creative writing, fine arts, Spanish, and Chinese. Because I have studied and worked across business, analytics, art, design, wellness, and education, I am able to adapt my explanations to different types of learners and help students see connections between subjects.
My lessons are for middle school, high school, college, and adult learners who want thoughtful, individualized support. Whether a student needs help preparing for an exam, improving their writing, strengthening their study habits, developing a creative project, learning a language, or building confidence in a difficult subject, I aim to meet them where they are and help them grow from there. My goal is not only to help students perform better academically, but to help them become more curious, independent, and confident learners.
