About Elizabeth

Every language student's needs are different. I have been a language student, and I understand how important it is for your instructor to know what you need in your lessons- whether that should be a slower paced learning environment, learning just enough to travel to a Francophone country, or more comprehensive studies. No matter what your reasons are for wanting to learn French, I am here to help you achieve your goals of learning French!

About the lesson

I love to teach using a cultural backdrop, so that the language and culture are simultaneously absorbed- that includes reading, music, movies, etc. A typical lesson with me would start with review of previous knowledge, discussing current cultural events in Francophone countries (in as much French as possible), and playing a song, or a clip from a film/tv show. After that, we would dive into the lesson using a workbook to guide the course. Finally, we will complete the lesson by completing a short recap and knowledge check. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am very amenable to the needs of my students, whether that be a slower pace or more comprehensive tutoring. My top priority is understanding what my students need and how they learn because everyone is different when it comes to language learning. My lessons are for beginners to advanced French speakers. I tutor college students as well.

I learned so much with Elizabeth! The lessons were super dynamic and entertaining. She really molded the lessons to what I was interested in which made it really fun! And she has so much patience for her students. Sometimes learning French can be tough but she broke down everything in a way that really stuck. I can’t wait until my trip to France!
