About Jake
Having studied Latin since age 10, I have been learning the language for over a decade, studying it at GCSE and A Level at Hereford Cathedral School , and now teaching it at St Pauls Cathedral School to children age 9-13.
I have a passion for the language and for teaching, and I think it very important to keep this dying language alive, as such an important part of our history, and the base of the English language.

I am fully aware that the endless grammar involved in the Latin language can be a drag, so I find it imperative to mix this into an overarching storyline that the student can get invested in. Whether that is translating a harry potter book, or following a character from ancient Rome, it helps to break up the interesting from the not. I have almost 3 years of experience now teaching Latin in St Pauls Cathedral School, from beginner level to Common Entrance and GCSE preparation, and following a similar structure, my lessons tend to be anywhere from 40 mins to 1 hour. They are open to people of any age.
