About James
Ever since I learned my ABCs, I have been an enthusiastic reader in a wide variety of topics. Most of what I have learned of English usage has come from reading in my leisure time. I also hold a BA degree in German language and literature from UC San Diego and a Master of Library Science from UCLA. Although I don't hold a formal credential in linguistics, I took numerous university courses in the subject and have studied it extensively on my own.

I want to help you ensure that that your written work conforms to the standards of usage, grammar, and style as typically required for essays, term papers, and other expository writing assignments. My standard approach is to review your work and suggest corrections where needed, and to offer advice on improving usage, style, and cohesiveness. I will also review creative writing, with different standards as needed for characterization.
If English isn't your native language I offer my broad understanding of the important structural features which often make English difficult for those whose native languages don't share them. If you "write with an accent", I can help you eliminate it.
