I have been in the academic world for over 12 years each of them involving some form of educating. Outside of the classroom I understand people and mentorship which was developed through my various experiences such as Alpha Phi Alpha, Sports, Big brother programs, and being an assistant teacher.

Have you heard someone tell you a joke and it wasn’t funny? Fast forward a few days and you hear the same joke but laugh?? What was the difference? Was it the joke, who said it or how it was said that changed? I love what Jim Kwik said, a brain expert who was once in a lifeshifting accident, “Learning is state dependent.” Learning anything new should be fun, exciting and engaging. If one would review history, I’m sure they’d be inclined to agree.
