About Courtney J

I completed my LL.B in 2024 and then pursued my LL.M in 2025. I hold two years of tutoring experience where I have tutored in the following law modules: Constitutional, Criminal, Delict, Property, Contract, Corporate, Access to Justice, and Jurisprudence.

Through my tutoring assistance and ensuring that students' needs were properly met, my help increased the performance rates in these modules between 15-25%.

I am enthusiastic about student tutoring and find fulfillment in being a part of students' educational journeys. My motivation to help students lies in the fact that I was once a nervous junior student who struggled to understand the content.
However, I had the assistance of many tutors who helped me build a solid understanding of the content and in turn, my confidence. Now I seek to provide this type of assistance to students knowing first-hand the difference it can make.

About the lesson

Here's some insights about my tutoring style:

- I try to determine which styles of learning are most suitable for an individual student/group of students and then deliver lessons accordingly. I believe in maximizing the learning processes and that is achieved by ensuring that students are able to thoroughly understand the content in a way that is easier for them.

- AI-assisted learning is a significant element of how I tutor. I use AI to help me generate diagrams and create visual aids to assist my students in understanding the content.

- A typical lesson with me starts with a brief discussion on the content studied beforehand. Thereafter I explain the identified topics to students but in a manner to draw in their input. Thereafter, I try to help them visualize the content in practice through practical exercises.

- My lessons are aimed at undergraduate law students.

- Furthermore, I offer lessons in English only.
