About Sarah
I am a graduate in Modern History from Durham University who completed an Inlingua post-graduate course in teaching English as a Foreign Language and who, after a spell teaching English to students at the University of Ferrara in Italy, has been teaching English literacy to children, teenagers and adults in Greece (where I am now resident) for the past twenty years. In the course of my teaching career I have also done extensive proofreading of scholastic, university and professional texts in many disciplines. I love teaching, finding it enjoyable and rewarding, and, with my husband now disabled, I am now looking to widen my base of online lessons, which I can do from home.

My literacy lessons are based on fully-illustrated, relevant and engaging books, followed with lively discussion and ample reading and writing exercises which enable the student to consolidate and practise the skills he/she has learnt. The lessons are always motivating and challenging, leading the student to learn quickly and thoroughly, but are also lively, humourous and great fun. Proofreading is carried out with great care. I always explain mistakes so that the writers can learn from their errors and improve the quality of their writing.
