About Jackie
I am an experienced tutor who loves helping students understand how they learn as individuals. Once you figure out the best way for your brain to comprehend information, learning can be a lot easier than you think. I've personally had to deal with being in a classroom and not understanding the lesson so it's so important to me to help others that may feel the same way.

I've worked with and tutored children since I was 13 years old. I have over 5 years of experience in daycare, before-school, and school settings. I'm currently a substitute teacher in the Los Angeles area and have experience working with students enrolled in the special education program. I've worked as an IEP, BI, and TA. I mainly specialize in elementary-level subjects but am also open to higher grade levels. What sets me apart from other tutors is my IEP experience which has allowed me to help students who have extra academic needs that a normal classroom setting doesn't support.
My approach as a tutor is to first get to know the student personally, figure out their academic needs/goals and set up a weekly plan for how to accomplish those goals.
