About Drishya
As the oldest sister, I spent a lot of time in my personal life tutoring my younger sisters. Aside from that, I also tutored many children in the Bhutanese refugee community throughout the years. I also currently volunteer as a Family Mentor for an Afghani refugee as part of the International Rescue Committee, and my responsibilities do include tutoring a high schooler in the family.
I work excellently with others, and I would make sure my students feel comfortable and welcome when they are around me. I understand the importance of communication, so my tutoring process would be collaborative and done through the efforts of all parties, rather than just me. As a student myself, I am able to think like other students, and this understanding would be implemented in my tutoring process. I can assuringly state that any student would be in great hands with me.

I can do both 1:1 and group sessions. The lessons would start with me teaching the general concept to make sure they understand. I would then go through any homework/classwork they have so they know the application of the concept. The lesson would end with me giving them sample questions to make sure they understand the concept thoroughly. I work in this 3-step process to make sure the student is confident in the idea. This process also allows it to be a collaborative effort rather than me reiterating the curriculum to the student.
Students' age levels can be anyone from Kindergarten to Grade 12! I am open to teaching any level of English, ESL, or History.
