About Sofia
Hello. My name is Sofia Holidou and Ι live in Greece. I studied Greek Philology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and I am currently pursuing a postgraduate program in linguistics and education at the Hellenic Open University. I have been teaching modern and ancient Greek to middle and high school students in Greece since 2016. For several years,I participated in a tutoring program to prepare students for Greek language exams and, since 2021, I have been teaching Greek online. I have attended several seminars on teaching Greek as a foreign language and I continue to receive further education. I would say that what sets me apart as a teacher is my patience, the understanding of my students' needs and my joy in searching for new ways and methods that will help my students achieve their goals.

I offer Greek language lessons for all levels (beginner to advanced) tailored to your specific needs. The lessons are based on your goals and pace. I use structured Greek language textbooks, so you'll follow a clear learning path with steady progress and I also create and provide you extra exercises according to your needs. Last but not least, i try to make the lessons interesting and fun by using songs, tv series and postcasts.
You will learn:
1.Everyday vocabulary and useful expressions
2.Basic and advanced grammar
3.Listening and reading comprehension
4.Speaking and writing skills
5.Pronunciation and listening practice
The first session is free, so we can get to know each other and set your learning goals. Lessons can be delivered in English, to help beginners feel comfortable. I would be happy to support you on your Greek language journey!
