About Yoryina

I’m 26 years old and originally from Athens, Greece. I have been living in the UK for the past six years, and I am currently studying for my Master’s in Violin at the Royal College of Music in London.

Although I grew up in Athens, my family comes from different parts of Greece- my mother is from Crete and my father is from Karditsa. Growing up with these different influences has given me a strong connection to Greek culture in all its variety, from different traditions and ways of speaking to music, food and everyday life.

Music is a very important part of who I am. Alongside classical violin, I also play traditional Greek violin, which has allowed me to explore and experience Greek musical traditions from a different perspective. I have a particular love for Greek culture and enjoy sharing not only the language, but also the traditions, expressions, music and everyday aspects of life that make Greece unique.

About the lesson

I offer personalised Greek lessons for all levels- whether you are starting completely from scratch, already know some Greek and want to improve, or simply want to become more confident speaking.

I can help you with:
Learning the Greek alphabet, reading and writing
️ Conversation and everyday spoken Greek
Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation
️ Greek for travelling and holidays
Greek for connecting with family or heritage
Learning Greek through music and Greek songs
️ Greek culture, traditions and everyday life

I believe learning a language is much more than memorising grammar rules. I want my lessons to be relaxed, practical and adapted to your interests and goals. We can focus on whatever is most useful to you — from ordering a coffee in Athens and having a conversation with locals, to learning how to read Greek, understanding Greek songs, or developing a strong foundation in the language.
