About Morris

Power chords and reading sheet music define the technical foundation I provide for my students. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from Selkirk College in BC. Precision matters to me but not at the cost of someone switching off during our sessions.

Career changers make up a large share of the folks I teach who need a steady hand on the fretboard. Between lead guitar work and navigating tricky tabs, I keep things chill and encouraging. What specific song or style have you always wanted to play? My approach is gig tested and grounded in the realities of the music scene.

About the lesson

Scaffolding is something I take away once you gain confidence with the basics. It is counterintuitive that you learn faster when you stop trying to be perfect every second.

I use a lot of worked examples to show how the fretboard actually functions. This method helps the music sink in deeper.

You will find that these 8.0 style focused sessions prioritize your ear over rigid theory. Everything feels natural when you approach the strings with a relaxed grip. We build from simple patterns toward soloing and complex improvisation. You start to hear the music in a different way.
