About Doug
I started playing guitar at 15 and I'm now retired. I have been in bands, recorded in studios and played with family and friends. Along the way, I've taught a few friends and family members how to play guitar. I love teaching beginning students the basics and watching creativity bloom. The last 15 years of my working life I worked for a well-known audio company that produced recording software and hardware and guitar effects. I have had a lifelong love affair with the guitar, and I've owned many acoustic and electric guitars as well as basses. As well as teaching guitar, I can give great advice on what instruments work for a particular style and budget.

I want to cater to what style students are interested in, make learning more fun, encourage bonding with the instrument. Want to accompany yourself? Be in a band? Play for family and friends? Write songs? Need lessons in evenings or weekends? I'm available and want to share my joy in playing guitar.
