About Alysia
Holding a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar from the University of North Texas, I keep my approach straightforward. I have spent 12 years teaching out of my Chicago studio while focusing on rock, blues, and modern styles. I am a total gear geek who helps you dial in your amp tone before we even touch the fretboard.
My lessons cover everything from ear training and reading sheet music to songwriting and power chords. Whether you want to master lead guitar techniques or refine your strumming patterns, I provide the electric technique you require. I thrive on helping students who want to understand exactly why their favorite songs work.

Starting with your current goals, we usually spend a few minutes assessing your signal chain to ensure your sound is ready for the work ahead. Having taught for 5 years, I know that the right equipment setup makes practicing much more enjoyable.
I work through the theory behind your favorite riffs to ground your playing in real context. Learning is driven by a practice module included with every session to keep your momentum high throughout the week.
Expect to play 6.0 times more effectively by following my structured, groove-focused guide. You will find that our time together centers on building clean technique that sounds great on any stage. I keep things moving forward with clear instructions and a consistent path toward your musical goals.
