About Mia
Hi, I’m Mia! I’m a Year 9 student at Caulfield Grammar School and live in South-East Melbourne. I have two younger siblings, Sierra in Year 7 and Levi in Prep, which has helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a natural ability to connect with younger children. I’ve played netball for seven years and love all sports, especially AFL. People often say that working with kids comes naturally to me, and I always strive to create a positive, supportive and encouraging environment for learning and growth.

Hi! I’m Mia, and I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and develop strong English skills. I’ve always received top marks in English and have a natural strength in reading, writing, and spelling. I love language and enjoy helping others see how rewarding it can be to express themselves clearly and creatively.
My Approach & Teaching Style:
I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit each individual’s needs and pace. My teaching style is encouraging, patient, and supportive- I focus on building understanding step by step, using examples and practice tasks that make learning both fun and effective. I aim to create a calm, friendly space where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their confidence.
Techniques & Methodology:
-Breaking down tricky topics into simple, clear explanations.
-Using reading and writing activities that build vocabulary and comprehension.
-Encouraging students to think critically and express their ideas with confidence.
-Providing feedback that helps them improve without feeling pressured.
I’m also great with younger learners- I often help my 5-year-old brother with his work, which has made me patient, understanding, and good at explaining things in ways that make sense to kids.
Lesson Length:
Lessons typically run for 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the student’s age, focus, and goals.
Who My Lessons Are For:
My lessons are ideal for young primary school students ranging from Prep - Year 3, who require additional support in reading, writing, spelling, grammar, or paragraph skills. Whether it’s catching up, improving grades, or boosting confidence, I’m here to help.
