About Jane

I am a fourth-generation teacher, and teaching has always been more than just a career for me—it is a passion that has been passed down through my family. After nearly 31 years in education, I still find the greatest joy in watching a child who once struggled to read become a confident, lifelong learner. There is truly nothing more rewarding.

Throughout my career, I have participated in intensive training focused on effective English-language instruction, and those experiences have greatly strengthened my ability to support my students and their individual learning needs.

I also had the privilege of teaching English and computer skills to adults for four years. That experience was incredibly rewarding because I was able to help adults develop skills that could open new doors for them personally and professionally.

Whether I am teaching a young child to read their first words or helping an adult gain skills and confidence, what continues to inspire me is the opportunity to help people grow, believe in themselves, and discover what they are capable of achieving.

About the lesson

I believe learning is most meaningful when students are actively engaged, so I strive to make my lessons hands-on, interactive, and motivating. I want students to feel successful and excited about learning while developing the confidence to take on new challenges.

I take each student’s prior knowledge and experiences into consideration and use that as a foundation for new learning. I begin by assessing students to determine their individual starting points and identify areas of strength and need. From there, I design instruction that meets them where they are and helps them move forward.

Throughout the learning process, I continuously monitor student progress and adjust my instruction as needed. I am not afraid to change my approach, provide additional support, or introduce new strategies when something isn’t working. My goal is to make sure every student has the opportunity to grow, experience success, and become an independent, lifelong learner.
