About Elizabeth
I started my career at the age of six. I used my grandmother’s old teachers’ editions to teach my reluctant little sister. I tutored supplementally and directed two local learning centers. There I taught students from five years old through adults. I also conferred regularly with families and classroom teachers. I have taught in the classroom for nineteen years. I am also pursuing my Ph.D. in education. I have a good sense of current trends and standards in curriculum and education.

I was not a fabulous student. Ask Sister Mary Evelyn who was my high school chemistry teacher. I learned that there were many ways to ask for help. That taught me to be an advocate for myself academically. I had to know what I didn’t know. I had to ask for the right kind of help. I had to identify how I best learned new material. That journey helped me become a lifelong learner and a great teacher.
