About IFEYINWA

Outside of work and study, I am passionate about outdoor education and adventure. I hold a climbing wall instructor training and a foundational coaching qualification, and I have completed the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award. I find that the patience, resilience, and problem-solving mindset that outdoor activities demand translate directly into my approach to teaching and support work.
I am also deeply interested in psychology beyond the academic I read widely around child development, neurodiversity, and mental health, and I find that keeping up with the field genuinely informs my practice. Music and culture are important to me too, and I enjoy staying connected to my Nigerian heritage through language, food, and community.
I am bilingual in English and Igbo, have functional Welsh, and am developing my British Sign Language. Languages and communication have always fascinated me which is perhaps why understanding how different people think and learn feels less like work and more like something I genuinely love.

About the lesson

I am a psychology graduate with over five years of experience supporting young people with additional learning needs, and a genuine belief that every student can access and enjoy learning when it is explained the right way.
My approach is built around the individual, person-centred. Before anything else, I find out how a student thinks, what they find difficult, and what has not worked before, then I build from there. I do not use a one-size-fits-all method. I use scaffolding, breaking complex ideas into smaller steps, and I check understanding constantly rather than moving on and hoping for the best.
Having studied Psychology to an accredited bachelor's degree level at Aberystwyth University, etc. I can also support students with English, study skills, proofreading and exam technique across a range of subjects.
Sessions are typically 60 minutes, structured but conversational I want students to feel comfortable asking questions they think are obvious, because those are usually the most important ones. I can work with students aged 11 and above, from KS3 through to A-level and beyond.
I have particular experience supporting students with additional learning needs, including autism and ADHD, and I am trained in British Sign Language. Every student deserves to feel capable in a learning environment that is what I work towards in every session.
