Hello, I'm David, a mature and experienced tutor who provides online lessons for GCSE English Language & Literature students at a price that won't stretch your budget.

I know David through spending time with him in his capacity as an historian and battlefield guide. Apart from his vast knowledge being, in my considerable experience, second to none. He has an incredible natural ability to deliver his message with interest, empathy, when appropriate and humour.
In my opinion he was born to a role as a ‘super prof’!!
Could not recommend any higher!

David is my husband but we met when he was my WW2 Battlefield guide. David’s knowledge of all periods of history is second to none. As a published author of both books and journal articles, David has first hand knowledge of English in the real world. He had taught many students in both English and history online and in person. His students always appreciate how he connects with them on their level. He soon discovers what interests them and will use this to engage them and bring out the best in them leading to the exam success they are looking for.

I highly recommend David as a teacher. He is patient, friendly, and professional, and explains everything clearly. His teaching style makes learning English enjoyable and helps build confidence. I’m very happy with the lessons and would definitely recommend David to anyone looking to improve their English skills. I couldn’t be happier with the results that were achieved.

I highly recommend David for his ability to inspire trust and confidence in students. His approachable nature, patience, and genuine commitment to their well-being help create a positive and supportive learning environment. David encourages students to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and reach their full potential. Through his integrity, consistency, and respectful communication, he builds meaningful relationships that make students feel valued, understood, and empowered to succeed.

David is a consummate professional who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about military history. We know David from being the expert on our trip to Colditz, Mohne Dam and the Great Escape sites. He makes the subject fun and accessible as his natural personality and enthusiasm for the subject engages you - he is a great communicator at every level and brings the subject matter to life. We have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who wishes to expand their knowledge. He’s a great guy who is also very easy to get on with.

David has a great rapport and is very knowledgeable. An author of several very well researched books on world war 2 and he can convey in layman's terms a way to remember facts and in an engaging way. Highly recommended
