About Pedro L
Greetings, my name is Leo and I am a physics teacher, with 15+ years of experience in university ecosystems, and with an eye on virtual education; willing to incorporate my multicultural learning experience in times of the coronavirus.
I live in Venezuela I have taught physics for more than fifteen years. I offer private tutoring on basic physics subjects, such as mechanics and electricity. Also, I teach molecular and modern physics.
I am qualified to teach statistical physics and quantum mechanics. I have a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and I graduated in Physics from the University of Moscow.

To learn physics, we must keep two goals in mind.
First, the equation that models a physical phenomenon must be understood, that is the first goal. Second, many exercises must be solved (skill-based) and several phenomena have to be combined, this is the second goal. It is what we now call, competency-based education, we go step by step.
Let's suppose we study a new subject in physics. To learn it, the first step is to master the physical units of an equation and solve direct examples. In addition, we use a calculator for that goal.
If we feel that we have understood this equation, we try to solve more difficult exercises. We combine two or more phenomena and their equations. This is the second goal, the use of intuition in physics.
For example, if we study the law of gravity and additionally learn that the speed of light in a vacuum is a constant c, then we can solve a problem in modern physics. How small must Earth be to become a black hole?
