About Brenna

Hi, I’m Brenna. I have a strong background in mathematics, statistics, and data science, and I enjoy helping students feel more confident in subjects that can often feel overwhelming. I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Computational Statistics and Data Science, and I have experience working with math, statistics, Excel, Python, R, and data analysis projects.

As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and organized. I believe students learn best when concepts are explained clearly and when they feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is not just to help students get through one assignment, but to help them understand the material well enough to feel more independent and confident in the future.

I can help elementary, junior high, high school, and college students with math, statistics, probability, Excel or Google Sheets, Python, R, data analysis, and class projects. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for a test, understanding homework, or working through a difficult concept step by step, I aim to make each lesson supportive, clear, and productive.

My name is Brenna, and my goal as a tutor is to make confusing topics feel manageable. I help students understand math, statistics, Excel, Python, R, and data projects in a calm, step-by-step way. I know how overwhelming these subjects can feel at first, so I focus on breaking concepts down clearly, checking for understanding, and building confidence as we go.

My teaching approach is very practical and student-centered. I like to start by figuring out what the student is struggling with, whether that is a specific homework problem, a concept from class, a coding issue, or a larger project. From there, I walk through the material one step at a time, explain the “why” behind each step, and then have the student practice with guidance so they are not just watching me solve the problem.

A typical lesson might include reviewing the student’s current assignment or topic, identifying the confusing parts, working through examples together, and then creating a clear plan for what to do next. For younger students, I focus on building strong foundations, improving problem-solving skills, and helping them feel more confident in math. For coding, statistics, or data projects, I can help students understand errors, organize their workflow, interpret results, and communicate their findings clearly.

What sets me apart is that I combine technical knowledge with patience and clear communication. I do not expect students to understand everything right away, and I try to create a comfortable space where they can ask questions without feeling embarrassed. I am especially good at helping students who feel overwhelmed, behind, or unsure where to start.

My lessons are best for elementary school students, junior high students, high school students, college students, and early beginners. I can help with general math, pre-algebra, algebra, introductory statistics, calculus, probability, Excel or Google Sheets, R, Python, data analysis, business analytics, and class projects involving data. I can also help students prepare for exams, understand homework, improve coding assignments, or work through final projects step by step.
