About Mia
Hi! My name is Mia. I’m a Grade 8 student in a French Immersion program, and English is my first language. I currently hold the highest overall grade in my class, and I enjoy helping younger students feel more confident—especially in math. I have experience working with kids through volunteering at the Bowmanville Figure Skating Club, where I helped young children learn how to skate. I also babysit and tutor my two younger siblings, which has taught me patience, creativity, and how to explain things in a way that makes sense to kids of different ages. Outside of school, I’m a competitive swimmer, and I also do figure skating, dance, gymnastics, and piano. I’ve completed 4 RCM piano exams with First Class Honors with Distinction (90%+). I bring the same dedication and energy to tutoring—making every session friendly, fun, and supportive!

How My English Tutoring Lessons Work
I offer personalized English lessons for students from SK to Grade 6, focusing on building strong reading, writing, and grammar skills. My goal is to help your child feel confident and excited about learning English.
What We’ll Work On:
Reading comprehension and fluency
️ Writing clear sentences and paragraphs
Grammar basics and punctuation
Fun activities and games to make learning engaging
Homework help and test preparation
How I Teach:
Lessons are one-on-one to focus on your child’s specific needs
Sessions can be in person at the library or online via Zoom
I use visual aids, worksheets, and interactive exercises to keep lessons fun and effective
Lessons typically last 30 to 60 minutes, depending on your child’s age and goals
