About Lydia

I am a university student currently studying Politics and International Relations. My reading has always been advanced, ever since I was 4 my reading age was for an 11 year old and over the years my reading level has always been at least 3 years ahead of my age group. I am new to tutoring, however I have had experience with Year 1 at a primary school where I helped children with their reading, but I also have friends and family with learning difficulties (including adults) who I have helped.

About the lesson

I am very patient, kind, non-judgmental, easy-going and I can get on with anyone. I will always support my students. I am a firm believer in trying until you make it, which is something I would get much joy from if I had the opportunity to teach you or your child. I like to encourage my students with anything they feel weak on, because, failure is a fear that I want to conquer with my students.

I am a teacher who encourages ultimate optimism and efforts. My lessons would start with asking you or your child how they are, as mental health is my overall priority because no one can work at their best when they aren't feeling 100%. My lesson tasks would vary on age groups, my under 11s would have learning games set for them, as children need something exciting in order to remain interested and learning. For my teen students and older, I would ask you what your learning methods are and I would lead on from there, as everyone learns differently and I respect and am open to that.

At the end of the day, I want my students leaving the lesson feeling confident, like they've learnt something, happy and accomplished.
