About William
I am an English literature student at the University of Exeter, who has also studied History of Art. I have only received firsts during my time at university, and have experience tutoring GCSE level English literature and language. I also attained 100% in A2 English Literature for both coursework and the exams, and still have my materials, so I feel entirely capable of tutoring that level as well.

I base my classes on skills initially rather than simply regurgitating facts. Usually, the first session, depending on the requests of the client, is spent performing close-readings of several poems I have selected. This helps the student develop their own intuition and learn the key skills for close-reading. During that session, I will assess the strengths and weaknesses of the student and adapt my teaching from that point onward to suit their needs.

Knowing William very well I know he’s very passionate about all aspects of literature and can speak very eloquently about poetry, prose and far more. His ability to see beyond the immediate text and understand the underlying meaning behind the choice of language, punctuation and imagery is next to none and he is excellent at conveying this knowledge to anyone.
