About Victoria

My experience studying literature and creative writing at Edinburgh university was incredible and it is my absolute pleasure to share that passion and experience with my students. BUT it was tough... As was my master's in philosophy - I know how stressful it can be to study something when you're not quite getting the support you need. You want to work hard and do well but you don't even know where to begin. Does that sound familiar? I can help you break things down into more manageable steps, to identify and move past whatever is holding you back and give you the confidence to reach your potential!

About the lesson

As a first class graduate of English Literature from the University of Edinburgh and a qualified English and ESOL teacher who has taught in Scotland, Uruguay, Spain and Thailand, I can help you with all your English needs. My lessons are aimed at: - BGE (or younger) pupils to nurture and develop core skills of literacy and creative and critical thinking - Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher pupils to guide them through exam prep and coursework. Lessons are typically forty-five minutes to an hour and one on one but if you have a friend you want to study with, that can be very effective too. Depending on your needs, we could work on: - your understanding, analysis and evaluation of texts; - RUAE practice papers and question types; - essay/creative writing skills; - literacy and punctuation; - research skills; - communication and presentation skills. We'll also cover ways to study and revise effectively — for all your subjects — so when May rolls around you can go into your exams PREPARED and with CONFIDENCE!
