About Caroline
English is my favorite subject to teach because of how important it is to have strong communication skills. To be able to express yourself effectively will take you far in life, no matter what path you take. It's important to me that everyone has access to literacy instruction that is interesting, relevant, and engaging for all ability levels across ages. My students have labeled me as a "good explainer with creative teaching methods" in that I help them understand complex ideas in simple terms in a way that's interesting and engaging.

My philosophy of teaching is strengths based, with a focus on relationship building and explicit skill instruction. My lessons are student centered. I prioritize relevant and engaging texts, and focus on helping students develop a more positive relationship with reading and writing. My lessons can be tailored to a variety of age levels from elementary literacy instruction to high school/college level reading and writing skills.
