About Vivian
I am a high school student with a love for reading, writing, and teaching. I have been tutoring for the last three years, so rest assured that I am a skilled and experienced teacher. As a child, I used to hate schoolwork. However, after engaging with an excellent tutor for several years, I learned to find great joy in education. This teacher then trained me, and now I too get to experience the excitement that comes when a student reaches that "AHA!" moment.

I teach quickly and concisely for those students who are in a hurry (e.g., preparing for a test) and more thoroughly for students whom are simply looking to get ahead or attain a more complete understanding.
Typically, I begin lessons by working on any school work that may be challenging the student. After this, I will ask the student what parts are still confusing them so we can continue to work on that. Following this excersise, I will typically give them something to practice on their own, to ensure complete understanding. Finally, I like to consider what typically follows the work we are doing, and introduce that to the student so they have an easier time grasping this topic when it is fully taught. I am more than happy to adapt lessons based on feedback from both the student and their family to truly suit their needs.
Due to the fact that I am a high school student, much of the information from the grades that I tutor (K-8) is still fresh in my mind. This makes me highly equipped to understand how english is being taught today, unlike many older tutors.
