About Hope

Hi, I am an experienced online tutor in English Language and English Literature at KS3, GCSE, A-Level, and up to BA undergraduate and MA postgraduate courses. I can also offer tutoring and conversation practice for students and adults learning English as a second language (TESOL). I am also an experienced editor that can offer help and assistance for proofreading, reading through assessment, dissertations, CVs, cover letters, job applications, websites, articles etc. I have a 100% student pass rate, and all of my sessions are offered online. I like to tailor my tuition depending on your own needs and keep flexibility according to what you would like to cover. My personal academic qualifications at university: - I hold two MA degrees, and was awarded an academic scholarship; - a distinction-grade Master's degree in English Literature (Uni of Sheffield), - a merit-grade Master's degree in History of Art (Uni of Birmingham) - a first-class Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature (Uni of Sheffield) - an academic scholarship to pursue funded MA study on the basis of my BA results. at school: - A*A*A in A Levels (English Lit, Latin: A*, Spanish: A) - EPQ, A - 9A* 3A at GCSE I have over six years of tutoring experience, as well as experience teaching English as a second language abroad to advanced level students. About the lesson

My teaching methodology is firstly to establish exactly what the learner wants from the class, and what they want to get out of my tuition by setting a clear aim. Looking through a student's previous work helps me to understand what the student specifically needs help with, so that subsequent lessons can directly help these areas.

Hope tutored me GCSE English and was fantastic at helping me structure arguments clearly and work under time pressure. She improved my technical exam skills by teaching me how to analyse articles. She explained concepts in a really clear and concise way and is always patient. I would definitely recommend her as an English tutor as I learnt a lot from her and did really well in my exams!
