About Dr Mike
I am a 59-year experienced teacher of preK through H.S. and college. My specialty is English Language Arts and Literacy. I am a remedial reading/literacy specialist for all ages. I have seven degrees, including three PhD's in teaching/instruction, psychology, and ministry.

I do not use workbooks or ditto pages. All of my instruction is based on life-event learning. I am a constructivist teacher, and I base my lessons on the student's abilities and interests. The bulk of my career has been spent with struggling learners, and I teach more on how to learn things more than what to know. I teach on the basis of the first sentence in my first (of 9) books: "If it's worth being done, it ought to be fun."
