Me? A Tutor? ??? >>> Approachable and Easygoing BUT particular in the instruction I give. I want you to do well and not be so stressed!!!! I hope to pass along a comprehensive system of strategies to approach an essay with the least amount of anxiety!!! I can definitely edit and give insightful suggestions to improve your work!!!
My General Lesson Structure:
1. Read over a rubric/have you describe the assignment
2. Go step by step through the essay development process (brainstorming, organization) attack! the essay in a way that prevents the overwhelming feeling of self-loathing that often occurs during academic assignments!
3. Aid in drafting the essay/writing assignment, including intensive editing
4. Help student through problem areas that they are personally anxious/concerned about
5. Give insightful and particular feedback during the final editing stages-- ensuring the student is confident before their submission.
Generally, I would target my tutoring to the needs of the student, and focus on areas that need the most aid!!
