About Julia

I am an experienced and qualified teacher and tutor, additionally holding advanced qualifications in Online Teaching Practice and SEND Teaching Methods, with extensive training in safeguarding and online safeguarding. I hold an Enhanced DBS check on the automatic renewal Update Service. I am a member of The Tutor's Association (TTA), the NASUWT, the National Education Union (NEU), and a registered teacher with the Home School Legal Defence Association (HSLDA). All lessons are recorded, not only for transparency but also so students can revisit them whenever needed. I use Bramble.io for secure and safe online lessons.

I teach History across AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Eduqas and CCEA, as well as Scottish National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher, Republic of Ireland Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate History, international History curricula, and undergraduate History, including support with academic research, assignments and dissertations.

Lessons are to be paid via bank transfer 24 hours prior to the lesson, and a 48-hour cancellation policy applies.

About the lesson

I tailor my teaching to each student, focusing on their needs, and the exams they are preparing for. I focus on developing a thorough understanding of the syllabus and boosting confidence, rather than relying solely on memorisation. Connecting theory to practical application is key, so lessons are interactive and focus on learning by doing. Students retain up to 90% of what they learn when they actively participate and 'learn by doing,' compared to just 30% when they only hear or see the information.

Perfect! Julia is an excellent tutor. My son a year 11 student was looking for extra support as he works towards his gcse in history. She has been very accommodating with her scheduling as my son also has other tutors. My son finds the lessons to be focused on his needs and is a good balance of revision and exam practice.
