Honors Public Policy Graduate with 8+ Years Academic Writing Experience in Los Angeles

Methodology

My teaching methodology depends on the student. Each student has a different way of processing information; I understand this, and work with it. I have experience in both academic and play-based teaching environments. I find that either of these approaches may work depending on the student. I am a kind and patient teacher, and I do my best to make sure the student fully understands what they're learning.

Background

I have been tutoring in academic writing for 4 years at the university level and at the elementary school level. I currently work as a legal assistant part-time proofreading and editing legal documents such as briefs, declarations, letters, motions, and pleadings. In college, I was recognized for my writing skills and nominated by a Professor to work as a professional tutor for students in every phase of the writing process. I also worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for a course titled National and International Policy, where I graded essays and exams, held office hours and private tutoring sessions, and assisted with lectures. I have experience teaching in elementary school as a Kindergarten and First Grade teacher, where I taught reading, writing, and the brainstorming process for writing stories. In my free time, I write creative short stories and poetry. I also continue to proof-read both academic, professional, and creative work sent to me by friends/colleagues.
