About Lorelei
My personal, academic, and professional journey has allowed me to engage with education and it's applications at many levels and in may roles.
Some key experiences in my educational career were completing my HSC in 2015 with very satisfying results that opened doors to a wide array of options for continuing tertiary study and imparted on me a world of knowledge, experience, and enthusiastic love for most of my HSC subjects. I was also privileged to study at UTS and pursue a Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Science (Combined LLB) as an undergraduate.
I have also been engaged in the professional world as either a freelance consultant or in full-time employment within a variety of roles involving technology, cybersecurity, operations, management, product ownership and development, and leadership. This has seen me embedded in projects and organisations from the size of your local coffee shop all the way up to critical large scale, high visibility projects at ASX 10 companies with widespread impacts on the lives of almost all of us.
So, what drives me to pursue tutoring now? I have a true passion for the subjects I tutor and this passion is what drives me to pass on my knowledge to any student who wants to gain a better grasp on the material, improve their results, or extend their existing ability further. I believe that everybody has a unique style of learning founded on their strengths and passions as a person.
Too often I have seen incredible potential snuffed out by rigid, inflexible, and judgemental educational machine lacking in empathy or optimism. In my time tutoring years ago, I found it deeply rewarding to play a small but powerful role in helping some incredible people find their power and grow to love learning and excel as students beyond what they imagined possible. Aside from this, I really enjoy growing my own knowledge and feeding my curiosity with the new and unexpected angles and perspectives from which subjects are understood and engaged with year by year, student by student.

My name is Lorelei and I am an experienced student, professional, and tutor - so wherever you are at in your life journey and whichever exciting milestones you are working towards, I can probably relate.
Enthusiasm is what drives my engagement with each individual I am privileged to work with. I don't believe in just hitting grade, but prefer to foster holistic personal development that pays lifelong dividends, while also enabling achievement of practical shorter term goals.
I have seen the best results when tutoring feels empowering and makes learning relevant and useful to the life and ambitions of the student.
So, if tutoring feels like a chore or a grind, I have failed - that's what boring old homework is for.
I believe that holistic growth is best achieved by building on a foundation of personal strengths and passions.
This means firstly working to identify and grow the unique personal strengths that you can leverage personally to excel.
Secondly, equally and also critically is igniting the personal passions that will sustain you through the journey, to overcome the hurdles that feel most insurmountable. From first steps into the dark unknown to the last few metres before the finish line where temptation to give up is loudest, passion fuels that crucial momentum that will see you through.
