About Omra

Having worked with thousands of students from diverse backgrounds, cultures and levels of ability. Throughout my career, the experiences, feedback and testimonials of my students have shaped my teaching philosophy and professional outlook. I believe that learning is most effective when students feel comfortable, encouraged and confident enough to express themselves without fear of making mistakes.

My personality is friendly, approachable and naturally curious. I have a broad range of interests, from international politics, history and culture to technology, gaming and anime. I bring these interests into my lessons wherever possible, particularly when preparing students for IELTS. The examination covers an enormous range of subjects, and I believe being able to discuss different topics naturally is just as important as understanding grammar and vocabulary. Whether we're discussing current affairs, cultural differences, technological developments or everyday life, I aim to make learning relevant, engaging and enjoyable.

Above all, I'm passionate about helping students recognize their potential, develop confidence and achieve their goals. My approach combines professional teaching standards with a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where every student feels valued.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centered, practical and tailored to each learner's individual needs, goals and level of ability. I believe effective learning comes from creating a supportive environment where students feel confident, motivated and actively involved in their progress.

I use a communicative approach, incorporating interactive activities, guided practice, real-life scenarios and constructive feedback. I adapt my teaching techniques to suit different learning styles, focusing on building confidence, developing practical skills and achieving measurable progress. Where appropriate, I also incorporate structured learning plans and progress assessments to ensure lessons remain purposeful and goal-oriented.

Typical lesson length: 60 minutes, although lessons can be adapted to suit individual requirements.

Qualifications and experience: I am CELTA-certified and hold a BA in Business Management from Queen Mary University of London. I have over 14 years of teaching experience across universities, public colleges and private language schools. My experience includes English language instruction, curriculum development, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), and preparing students for IELTS and TOEFL examinations.

Who my lessons are for: I work with learners of different ages and abilities, from beginners to advanced students. My lessons are suitable for school and university students, adults, professionals and individuals looking to improve their general English, academic English, business communication, IELTS or TOEFL performance.
