About David

I am a proud veteran and dedicated educator hailing from Benton County, Mississippi. With a rich educational background, including a B.S. and M.Ed. from Tennessee Temple University, an M.A.T. from Belhaven University, and currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership at National University, David brings a wealth of knowledge to his teaching. His dissertation research focuses on closing the achievement gap, reflecting his commitment to every student's success.
I have been shaping minds since 2009 and is currently in my third year at Overton High School, where I teach standard, Pre-AP, and A.P. World History. I also serve as the Chair of the Social Studies Department. I believe in the inherent ability of every student to learn and grow, and am dedicated to guiding each one to reach their fullest potential.
