About Joan
Hi! I'm a multilingual educator with a passion for helping children learn in ways that feel natural, joyful, and empowering. I teach English and Spanish through creative, real-life experiences — using play, movement, routines, and fun activities to make language learning engaging and meaningful. With years of experience working with children in educational and artistic settings — including circus arts, summer camps, and private lessons — I know how to connect with kids and adapt to their individual learning styles. I'm patient, encouraging, and committed to creating a space where children feel confident to express themselves and make mistakes (because that's how we learn!).

My teaching approach is playful, immersive, and rooted in real-life experiences. I believe children learn languages best when they're engaged, moving, and having fun.
I use everyday activities like cooking, tidying up, stretching, dancing, storytelling, and even simple circus movements (when possible!) to introduce vocabulary and conversation naturally. Kids pick up language effortlessly when it’s connected to their daily world.
We sing, move, role-play, and use visual and physical cues to build understanding with a focus on communication, not perfection.
I combine language teaching with movement, mindfulness, and creativity. With my background in circus arts and child education, I make language come alive in ways kids love. My lessons are joyful, low-pressure, and designed to build confidence — especially for children who learn best outside the traditional classroom model.
My lessons are ideal for homeschooling families or parents seeking an alternative to formal tutoring. Learners ages 4 to 12 interested in Spanish or English all levels.
