Inductive Bible Study Lessons: Learn From The Director Of YWAM Bible School
Methodology
My experience ranges from teaching youth all the way to older adults. My approach varies based off of age, but typically we start off with introductory lessons, getting the student familiar with the content. At the beginning the approach is very interactive and hands on, with many ways of practicing and growing in the foundational understanding of the method of study.
From there I like to move on to teaching the format of the assignments, which we will use to go through the books of the Bible. We start in the New Testament and go book by book - starting with lecture and then moving to individual study with check ins and tutoring along the way.
Background
I am with an organization called Youth With A Mission, a non-profit Christian missions organization. I specifically work with a program called the School of Biblical Studies (SBS for short), which is a 9 month Bible school in which we go through the entirety of the Bible book by book, using a method of study called the Inductive Method. This method focuses on getting down to the authors intent and message for each book, using historical and literary context to unpack the complexities we find within the Bible! The goal is life transformation!
I have been teaching in this program for 5 years and now am the Director of the School based out of Montana, USA (although the program is a worldwide program). I have taught many books of the Bible and have a lot of experience specifically with teaching the inductive method, literature, historical background, and grammar.
