My name is Erica Gittens, and I am English language and Social Studies teacher. I was born in Panama but I have had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and the USA while studying, working, and creating memorable experiences in the educational field.
I feel that my years of experience abroad, working with multicultural peers, and students will create the perfect match for your international standards. Since I have had the opportunity to apply and improve strategies with creatives tools, I will be able to establish a bridge of opportunities that will benefit the growth of the students.
Some of my most memorable experiences that I have had are: teaching the English language to non-native English speakers in Washington, DC. This program created workshops, seminars, activities, and events for them that helped them improve their conversations and writing skills, while motivating them to get better job opportunities and become better citizens. Another one was when I started working with teenagers that wanted to have the opportunity to study abroad, and needed to take the SAT test. I taught them how to better the score goals with strategic SAT techniques and also worked in strengthening their confidence.
