About Bob
I really love teaching English. I have 25 years experience in ESL. When I have worked in other fields, like journalism or pottery, I have volunteered to teach immigrants and refugees English. My other passions are travel and learning. I have visited 40 plus countries and have studied IT, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Journalism and Psychology at university level. (Economics is next!) I also study a couple of musical instruments. I like chess and won the Taiwanese national championship twice when I lived in that country.

Who the lessons are for: Everyone! My youngest student was three, my oldest was over 80. I have taught people from 60 plus countries. I have taught many PhDs. I have had three or four adults who had never been inside a school before I met them. For conversation classes I like to set a new topic each class. That way we always cover new vocabulary. Personally, my favorite topics are Psychology, music, sports, books and movies. If students have topics they want to discuss, or expertise they want to share, they are always free to pick the topic. For writing we will discuss the type of writing you want to master. Then we will read something you have written. We will focus on correcting mistakes that happen often. In IELTS, the student's English level determines what we will do. If their level is high they may only need some tips on how to organize their writing. If their English level needs to improve then we will combine test preparation with improving the student's English ability.
