About Perla
As a first generation Mexican-American female college student, I am the example of my entire family, meaning everyone is expecting me to do great things in life and succeed in everything. Lots of pressure and constant stress. I would work hard to do well in school, but there were times were I just couldn't understand what was being taught. My parents couldn't help and the teacher's explanation confused me even more.
Being stuck on a problem; unable to continue because I dont know how to start; this is one of the worse feelings. My goal is to become a teacher so I can help kids understand and have fun while learning. Math is like a giant puzzle, you're given all the pieces needed. It's just figuring out where each piece goes.

Hello there!
Learning math online may seem challenging at first, i know it was for me. I would often fall behind which led to my grades' downfall. Over some trial an error, I found my own method of self teaching and I hope to share it with others.
I often use images and analogies to visualize what a problem is asking. Once I can visualize it, I can use the appropriate formula to solve it. My main goal when teaching, it to make sure the student understands what is being taught. I will gladly spend more time on a section to ensure it.
