Hello! I’m Katheryne Garcia, I hold a 120-hour TEFL certification from Canterbury English, and I am passionate about helping students learn English in a way that feels natural, enjoyable, and confidence-building. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and advanced studies in Spanish language and culture, including C2-level coursework at Universidad Nebrija in Madrid. This combination has taught me how to support students not only academically, but emotionally because learning a language requires both courage and curiosity. I specialize in interactive, student-centered learning that adapts to each person’s goals, personality, and pace. Whether students are learning through storytelling, games, conversation practice, pronunciation activities, or writing challenges, my focus is always on clear communication and real progress, not memorization. As a bilingual educator, I understand the specific challenges Spanish speakers face when learning English, from pronunciation to grammar differences. I use empathy, patience, and proven teaching methods to help students speak confidently, correct mistakes naturally, and feel proud of their improvement. My Approach as an English Tutor As a certified TEFL teacher, I focus on building real communication skills through interactive learning. My goal is to help students feel confident, curious, and motivated to use English in meaningful ways not just memorize it. Teaching Method & Techniques My lessons are: Communicative & student-centered Students speak from the first lesson, practicing natural conversation in real-life contexts. Interactive & playful for children I use games, storytelling, songs, role-play, art, and movement to help young learners retain vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation while having fun. Skill-based for teens and adults Lessons include targeted practice in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, adjusted to personal or academic goals. Confidence-focused feedback Instead of correcting constantly, I guide students with gentle modeling, praise, and goal-based improvement, helping them speak without fear. Personalized for every learner I adapt lessons to each student’s age, learning style, interests, and emotional needs. A Typical Lesson Plan: Warm-up Short game, question, or activity to introduce the topic and activate vocabulary. Presentation New language introduced through stories, examples, visuals, or real-life situations. Practice Interactive tasks such as Games or storytelling (for kids) Debates, role-plays, conversations (for teens/adults) Writing challenges or pronunciation drills (based on needs) Production / Real Use Students create something using the new language: The focus is expression, not perfection. Feedback & review Positive reinforcement, small corrections, and a small challenge or goal for next class.
