About Sam

Teaching makes me happy. It's as simple as that.
Not everyone can be a teacher, because it takes two to learn. I learn from my students every day, and that's what keeps my lessons honest, relaxed and fun.

As a law graduate, I've been in uncomfortable situations where I had to speak up bravely and communicate with confidence. It taught me that it's not just what you say, but how you say it. That's what I want to help you find: the confidence to say what you mean and say it well.

No judgment here. Mistakes are part of learning, and I'll always meet you where you are. I'm patient, encouraging and always up for a good conversation. By the end of every lesson, I want you to feel a little braver in English than when you started.

About the lesson

My approach and methodology -
My first lesson will begin with a short chat so I can understand your level, goals and what makes you nervous about English. From there, I build lessons around what you actually need, whether that's speaking fluently, writing clearly, preparing for interviews, or improving pronunciation. My lessons are speaking-focused and practical, with real-life topics, role-plays and discussions. I correct mistakes gently and in the moment, then recap them at the end so they stick. I also give short, manageable follow-up tasks, so progress continues between lessons.
Lesson length
Lessons are 60 minutes: a quick warm-up conversation, the main focus of the day, then a recap of new vocabulary and corrections. I'm happy to arrange 30-minute sessions for younger or busier students.
Qualifications and experience
I'm fluent in English and have a degree in Law and Arts (Honors), and I'm completing an MSc in International Business Management. I've trained over 100 undergraduate students in public speaking as a lead facilitator, and I served as president of a public speaking club, where I won awards for impromptu speaking and evaluation. I also work in recruitment, so I know the English that matters for interviews, professional emails and the workplace.
Who my lessons are for
Teenagers (14+) and adults at intermediate level and above who want to speak more confidently, whether for work, study or daily life. I'm especially good for interview and presentation practice, business English, and anyone who understands English but freezes when they have to speak.
